As President and CEO, Mohamad is responsible for setting the strategy and overall management of the company.
Mohamad has over 15 years experience in electronic publishing and international library sales. In 1998 Mohamad co-founded ebrary, the world’s first academic ebook technology services provider, and continued on as its Vice President of International Sales until 2008. During his time at ebrary he grew the international business from zero to over 4000 library customers in over 140 countries. In 2008 Mohamad moved to Dubai to become the CEO of TechKnowlege FZLLC, the Middle East’s leading electronic information service provider.
Mohamad was educated in the US, with a BSc. in Systems and Control Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA in International Trade and Market Development from the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management.
Rany is responsible for setting the company’s sales strategies and managing its global network of distributors. Prior to co-founding Al Manhal Rany was the Vice President of Sales and Training at TechKnowledge FZLLC, the Middle East’s leading elibrary consultancy and electronic resource services provider.
Rany single handedly founded TechKnowledge in 2004 and has grown it to a company that provides electronic resources to over 1000 library customers across the Middle East and Africa. Prior to founding TechKnowlege, Rany worked in the Telecommunications industry in the UK and Saudi Arabia.
Rany utilizes his extensive sales management experience and in depth knowledge of the Middle Eastern library community to insure that Al Manhal reaches every single library with a need for Arabic content.
Rany holds a Bachelors degree in International Business & Finance from George Washington University in the USA.
As Director of Operations, Tommaso is responsible for the daily management of the Al Manhal operation in Amman, Jordan. Under his leadership, Al Manhal is building the region’s most efficient, reliable and scalable electronic content production and management infrastructure.
Tommaso has 15 years experience in the electronic records and database management industry. Prior to moving to Amman to run Al Manhal’s technical operations, Tommaso was the Director of Research and Product Development at Noemalife Spa, Italy, a leading provider of medical information management systems, and Software Development Manager at AGFA Healthcare, Italy.
Tommaso attained his PhD in Computer Engineering from Bologna University, Italy. He is an accomplished researcher in the field of Medical Robotics and Information Systems with his research published in the some of the world’s most prestigious journals.
As the Financial Controller, Varughese is responsible for managing the company’s finance and administration department. In addition to financial strategy and management, and operational accounting, he is responsible for developing and maintaining the intricate financial systems required to ensure transparent and accurate electronic royalty payouts to Al Manhal’s publishing partners.
Varughese has over 19 years experience in Financial Management, Accounting, Costing, MIS report and Auditing.
Prior to joining Al Manhal, Varughese was the Financial Controller with G4 Group of Companies, a Dubai based group with activities across the GCC . Prior to that he was a Senior Auditor for Talal Abu Ghazaleh & Co., Certified Public Accountants, Dubai, UAE.
As the GM of the Jordan office, Bashir leverages his extensive experience in the academic and government sectors to manage the company’s content development team in relation to the requirements of our library and government stakeholders.
Bashir has over 18 years experience in various areas of academic management. As the former Deputy Director of Jordan University Libraries and publishing house, he is an expert on all the content and publishing requirements of our library customers.
Basheer holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting & Public Administration and a Higher Diploma certificate in Libraries and Information Resources from the University of Jordan.
As the Journal Publishing Manager, Rehab is responsible for all aspects of journal acquisition and publishing strategy. She utilizes her extensive experience in journal publishing to lead the company’s journal production team.
Prior to joining Al Manhal, Rehab was the Assistant Director and Executive Editor for Medical Journals at The Egyptian National Scientific & Technical Information Network (ENSTINET). During her 10 years at ENSTINET, Rehab was responsible for the editorial process and production of 5 medical journals.
Rehab holds a BS.c in Commerce and an MBA from Cairo University.
