Amman, April 29: Al Manhal - the world’s only Arabic, full-text searchable online database of scholarly, professional and peer-reviewed publications - announced its participation in the annual conference of the Special Libraries Association - Arabian Gulf Chapter (SLA), which was held between 23rd and 25th April, 2013, at the Fairmount Hotel in Abu Dhabi. Al Manhal also took part in the 2013 Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF), which took place between 24th and 29th April, 2013, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC). 

 

As part of its participation in both events, Al Manhal released its new Science & Technical and Medical (STM) Journal collections which comprise the most authoritative peer-reviewed Journals, with three-years of back-files, covering an array of medical subjects such as diseases and disease prevention, psychology, genetics, pharmacology, surgery, pediatrics, nursing and more; as well as a broad range of Science & Technical journals related to chemistry, biology, hydrology, mathematics, agriculture, technology and engineering.

 

Al Manhal also released two new daily & weekly reports. The Royal Commission of Jerusalem Affairs (RCJA), is a reputable, respected publishing committee, established in 1991 by His Royal Highness King Hussein Bin Talal. RCJA specializes in Jerusalem, its relationship with Israel, and its efforts to maintain its Arab and Muslim identity while emphasizing the historical impact that Jerusalem has had on the region. As for Madar Center reports, they focus on Israeli affairs and the impact of the Arab-Israeli conflict on Middle East, as well as Iran and the Gulf. As part of its exhibit at SLA, Al Manhal held two seminars on 23rd and 24th April about the new STM Journals, the company’s lineup of products and services, as well as its Arabized platform. During ADIBF, Al Manhal conducted a presentation on 24th April on e-publishing, its benefits and current challenges, as well as its offerings to publishers and libraries. In addition, Al Manhal CEO Mohamad Al Baghdadi hosted a discussion session entitled ‘Academic Books in the Arab World’ on 25th April at 10 am.
